Bazaar compatible program, Shanghai
Textiles, aluminum, nylon
Installation realized within the framework of the Bazaar compatible program: a research program that aims to explore the new formats developed today by artists within a networked and globalized culture.
Box 26, located in the Anshun covered market in Shanghai's Anshun district, is invested as a digital work interface. Photographs on semi-transparent textiles unfold like samples in the space of the white cube. Suspended like layers waiting to be superimposed.
The systematic shooting protocol shows how each trader in the adjacent boxes appropriates the same volume through heaps, piles of objects or bazaars of all kinds. In these images of accumulation of colored lines, of saturated overlapping, visibility is blurred. A certain state of globalization is then apparent.
